![]() ![]() "We have no intentions of raising the price of the subscription" is a statement that relies on trust. They can combat rumor and speculation with generosity. They can be open and upfront about things, and not put themselves in a position where my faith in their honest, good intentions is in any way relevant to our interactions. If you can't give them an ounce of trust, there is absolutely no way they can ever please you.įalse. If WOTC officially stating that that's not their plan and never was isn't enough for you, then you should find a different community. There was a fake leak earlier this year which was confirmed to be fake which actually said the same thing, but this latest information is from several separate internal sources that went out to separate editorials very intentionally. It doesn't necessarily mean it's all factual as this is the nature of leaks, but this story was not some sort of mistake. This was leaked to several major editorials separately and simultaneously and the Tweet has not been deleted, in fact, its been confirmed by several separate sources. ![]() The guy who broke the "leak" deleted his tweet and apologized. I for one, believe the community, that these leaks are real and that Wizards of the Coast is full of it. It boils down to who you trust more, a corporation that thinks you are objects that stand between them and their money (aka cattle), or passionate community members who are trying to preserve Dungeons & Dragons? You can always claim leaks as misinformation, that is very easy to do, as it is easy to make up a story and claim its leaked information. Wizards of the Coast employee's are pretty pissed off right now with how the company is being managed from the executive level and they are intentionally leaking information out of spite. I believe them when they say they will not increase the prices, I don't believe them when they say that this was never part of the plan. When that leaked information hit the community and they became outraged over it, as the announcement was never official, Wizards of the Coasts were able to simply say "hey it's just a rumor". There was a plan to increase the top-tier subscriptions to $30 per month. It's not exactly how this went down, but the spin is quite strong with Wizards of the Coast.
